the silt pellets that were to be ordered by Aquatic Nuisance. All Lake James residents can purchase these pellets

Delinquent Dues:
Rodger Shutter reported that the property owned by Federal Mortgage was paid in full. The release of lien will follow.
Current dues are payable as of October 31, 2009. A second notice will be mailed to those homeowners who are yet
outstanding.
Weed Report:
Rocco Daversa reported that Aquatic Nuisance sprayed the lake the week of October 12, 2009. Shadow Lake was given a
full treatment for algae and one-half strength Renovate II for milfoil. Lake James was sprayed in all the known
troubled areas with one-half strength Renovate II. These same areas will be treated again with the other half
of Renovate II within ten to fourteen days
Rocco also reported that he was given a brochure by a homeowner regarding the stocking of fish by the DNR.
This information will be forwarded to Pat Murray to be looked into further.
Parks Report:
Jim Preczewski reported that beach sand would be delivered to Linwood and Ridgewood Parks at a cost of $10.00 a
yard by Jerry Widdis. He is looking for twenty yards of sand to be delivered at each park.
Fish Report:
In Pat Murray's absence, Larry Bittner gave the report. Pat Murray has filed and gotten the permits for the planting
of fish in the fall. Some discussion followed as to whether or not to continue the fish fund or whether to continue
to restock fish in the lake both in the fall and in spring. It was felt that more of the board members needed to be
present to continue this discussion. At this point, it was decided that if Pat had not yet ordered the fish,
we would not stock fish this fall.
The possibility of tagging fish in the spring was also brought up with the intention of having a contest among the
homeowners. More discussion to follow at future board meetings.
Dam Report:
In Pat Murray's absence, Larry Bittner gave the report. The dam inspection took place on September 29, 2009.
There is some deterioration in the tube. Vehicular traffic and parking of cars on the crest area will no longer be
allowed. The Lake dam is in good condition. No structural deficiencies were found that might cause a failure of the
dam. It was recommended to either insert a new pipe or line the interior of the pipe. It was also recommended to
remove the trees by the outlet tube on the downstream slope of the earth embankment.
Events Report:
Jane Tomaszewski is looking into the purchase of shirts for the board so that board members would be more
recognizable at different lake functions.
Communications:
Larry reported various communications from Tom Hayes regarding the renewal of our LakeJamesMi.org.name.
The renewal rate is $35.00 per year. Tom will take care of the necessary paperwork with the State.
"Ask the Board" had a suggestion from a homeowner regarding the availability of a Lake James flag with our logo
on it. The Board will look into this further.
New Business:
Larry reported on a meeting he had with Denton Township officials on September 17, 2009 about Chosen Electric
and their business being conducted from their home. A letter was written to the owners of Chosen Electric on
September 18, 2009, by Denton Township listing what they can and cannot do from their home. Larry followed up with
another meeting on October 7 with the Denton Township Committee and was told to take the issue to the Planning
Commission. Larry attended a meeting with the Planning Commission on October 13, 2009 and was told that he has
their support and they will follow up with Chosen Electric.
Larry also reported that he has hired a lawyer about the PPO placed on him by Mr. and Mrs. John Bate.
The court hearing is set for Friday, October 23, 2007.
- With no further business, a motion was made by Jim Preczewski to adjourn the meeting.
- Motion second by Rodger Shutter.
- Board Motion Vote: I's All Nays: -0-
Meeting adjourned at 12:05 p.m.
The next LJPOA meeting will be held November 21, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the home of Larry Bittner,
