Vice President's Report:
Rodger reported that 97% of dues are in as of 6/20.
20 court cases pending with one dismissal.
Request for an updated membership list made discussion tabled until June's is meeting.
Weeds:
Dan and Rocco reported that the survey had been completed and that spraying would begin by June 30.
Survey revealed that there was a large amount of Eurasian Milfoil in Walden Bay and in Shadow Lake.
50 acres of lake will be sprayed for general lake weeds.
Parks:
Jim reported the playscape was in place on Hazelwood, thanks to the many volunteers. The bridge ramp is complete
thanks to Ed Rowle. Update needed to be made to insurance policy to cover park updates. $20.00 received in boat
key purchases. A seawall of 21 ft. is to be placed at Hazelwood Swim area to prevent further erosion by Perry Stafford.
Fish:
Imlay City Fish Farm dumped fish at three sites on lake.
Dam:
Two bids have been received @ $1,100 & 2,000. We are awaiting a third bid for Dam inspection. Gates were opened and boards removed on June 16.
Events
Boat Parade & Picnic
Jane reported that only 4 boats had registered thus far, but more were expected closer to the parade.
The judges have been confirmed to be staged at Dorothy's house. Brian of Brian's Marine & Supply has offered to pay
for the picnic. Offer accepted. Brian will also put out a dock and display several boats. Everything is in place for
the picnic after the parade.
The trophy will be named the LJPOA 4th of July Boat Parade Trophy. The 1st place award will be named the
Steven Vat Award after the artist who designed the top piece of the trophy. 2nd & 3rd place winners will receive
certificates.
Logo Contest:
One entry has been received so far.
New Business:
Larry reported that people have communicated that they appreciate the signs at the Association's entrances.
At the present time the Bates have not sent the agreed upon letter and papers regarding the temporary structure on Ridgewood.
Chosen Electric will be referred to Denton Township.
Dues invoices to be mailed the last week of June.
August Annual Meeting: August 23rd at Houghton Lake Community Center (behind the Pines).
Voting for new board members:
2 - 1 year term
3 - 3 year terms
Mailing will go out with the dues notice. Board to purchase envelopes that are prestamped with forever stamps
and preprinted return address.
