MINUTES FROM JUNE 15, 2006 MEETING:
Motion to accept by Tim Hughes, second by Jim Van Vonderen
OLD BUSINESS:
FINANCIAL REPORT: by Mary Hughes.
Motion to accept by Stan Watkins and seconded by Tim Hughes.
DAM REPORT: by Edgar Merrell.
Still waiting for water to drop so new gates can be installed. All boards are in.
PARKS: by Jim Preczewski.
Parks in fairly good condition. Split Rail fences repaired & (1) new one added at Hazelwood.
Excessive trees removed from entrance at Moosehead Park. Porta Potty can not be installed at
Hazelwood (unserviceable) Discussion on clean up of empty lots owned by LJPOA – no final
decision. A discussion on removal of vines on island at eastern end of Lake James #2
BUOYS: (1) buoy to be removed from 1 bay requested by lot owners and all other buoys to be
adjusted to upright position.
SIGNS: Moosehead Dr. sign to be installed at boat ramp. New Warning signs to be added at each
end of tube by dam.
FISH REPORT: by Gary Varco.
Nothing new to add at this time.
AQUATIC PLANT CONROL: by Tim Hughes.
Reported on early spraying at Shadow Lake and on Lake James #1 & #2. New bids required for
future spraying and also discussion on alternate weed control. Sub meeting on 24th July (7:00 PM)
at Tim’s house to be attended by Al W., Tim H., Gary V., Jim P., & Tom M.
Tim H. & Al W. advised that the Boating Safety Class was scheduled June 24 @ 9:00 A.M. at the
Pole Barn. The boat parade is July 2 @ 1:00P.M. and will start at the boat ramp.
LAKE MGT:
Twenty five students attended Boat Safety Class. Discussion on the need of various signs on Lake
James. Discussion of selling adv. Space on the newsletter & on the Web Site. Also a discussion
on metered and/or bulk mail. Decision to be made after web site is updated and secured.
Boat parade was a huge success.
NEW BUSINESS:
Discussion of no trespassing signs at tube by Roscommon Road.
ANNUAL MEETING:
Board members and helpers to be at the hall at 6:00 PM for set up. Gary V. to take care of fish
fund raffle., Mary Hughes sell Lake James paraphenelia. Manning the table at the entrance will
be Chris W., Lorraine & Jim P. & Edgar M.
Assignments to obtain door prizes from local merchants were given.
Tim H. needs response by Aug 1st.
