The sixth annual Lake James boat parade took place on Saturday, July 3rd at 11:00 a.m. Twenty-two boats
participated which was down from the previous years. More categories opened up this year to allow for more winners.
There was a tie for the traveling trophy this year. The winners were the USS Pride created by the Timberlake group
and “Thomas the Train” which was a double pontoon entry from Team Waldenwood. Each group will possess the trophy for
six months. Prizes were also awarded to the most original, most patriotic and funniest. All awards will be presented
at the annual property owners meeting in August. A big thank you to our judges—none of whom live on Lake James.
The parade was followed by a hotdog roast immediately after at the pole barn for all property owners and their
guests. Sheriff Randy Stevenson won the 50/50 raffle drawing and donated all his winnings to our fish fund.
Thank you, Randy.
