2007 LJPOA Winter Picnic

The LJPOA Annual Winter Picnic was held on Saturday, January 27, 2007. With the mild winter causing concerns, we were rewarded with snow and ice just prior to the event. Saturday brought some snow, but the weather cooperated with us. Again, the tent was pitched in Moosehead Park, the grills were fired up and the great America food of choice was being served. The turn out was exceptional. We cooked and served over 275 hot dogs. It was nice to see some new homeowners on Lake James attending their first picnic.

I would like to thank all the hearty souls that attended and I would also like to acknowledge my team for their support. Al Walker and Tim Hughes were the chefs. Gary Varco and Jim Preczewski were there to help set up and sell 50/50 tickets for the fish fund. I would also like to thank Mary Hughes for bringing and selling the LJPOA logo items. But special thanks go to Lynn James and my wife Judy for running around the morning of the picnic to get the hot beverages and balloons. They had to overcome some problems with the availability of the hot drinks and just made it in time for the start of the event.
